Pilot that creation in the Makerspace test tank to complete underwater missions and learn about how these vehicles are used for science and study. Sanctuary Cinema Series – Lake Invaders: The Fight for Lake Huron. Lake Huron, one of the five parts comprising the Great Lakes, has been hit with numerous exotic species invasions over the last century. Each invasion changes the ecosystem. Fish populations have collapsed, the entire food web completely altered, and a multi-million-dollar industry dried up. Biologists are racing to understand these changes and restore balance to the third largest lake in the world before the next invader arrives. The 2009 film by John Schmit, will be shown at the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, 500 West Fletcher Street in Alpena at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.
