Share your photographs with us! The Alcona County Review is looking for photographs that depict what summer in Alcona County is all about. We are looking for good quality, eye-catching, color photos that represent the best Alcona County has to offer in the way of summertime fun and/or scenic beauty. Some examples: Waterskiing on Hubbard Lake, canoeing on the Pine River, a bonfire at dusk, deer walking the shoreline at sunrise, etc.
All photos submitted will be posted on the Review's Web site: alconareview.com. People can vote for them and select the "People's Choice" winner. The People's Choice winner will receive $50.
One of the photographs entered will be selected for the cover of the Alcona County Visitor's Guide 2012. This is a tourist publication that highlights things to see and do in Alcona County. Twenty thousand copies are printed and distributed at all of the Michigan Welcome Centers, so they can be picked up by folks coming to or thinking about coming to northeastern Michigan.
The cover of the Visitor's Guide is the very first thing people will see as they consider what Alcona County has to offer - it is the face of Alcona County's Summer 2012. That's why we are looking for photographs taken by residents and/or visitors to Alcona County.
So, if you've had fun in Alcona County and caught it on film, we want to share it with others!
Contest Rules:
- Color photographs must have been taken in Alcona County during the summer months.
- Submitted photos must be accompanied by the name, address and telephone number of the photographer. The date and place the photo were taken must also be included as well as a brief description. If individuals appear in the photograph, their first and last names must be included.
- Photos may be submitted from February 8 through April 11, 2012. They may be e-mailed as a jpg attachment to editor@alconareview.com.
- The photographs chosen as winners of this contest become the property of the Alcona County Review and can be used in any promotional material by this company.
- The Review may choose a photo other than the "People's Choice" for the cover of the Visitor's Guide. This would be the "Editor's Choice" and, if that happens, the photographer of the "Editor's Choice" will receive $50.
